Knots Away Massage

About The Practitioner

 Mandy Schroeder, CMT, LMT

My Training:
 Globe University for massage therapy

My favorite, most meaningful day at school was during a snow storm. I was the only student to show up. I had 3 teachers to teach me all about trigger points. How to find them and how to get rid of them with feedback from the teacher on the table and the 2 teachers showing me the techniques.

My philosophy:
My approach to massage is with patience. In my experience, muscles are like toddlers; they respond best with repetition, firm, yet gentle pressure (redirection), and lots of patience.

Why I do what I do:

Before deciding to become a massage therapist, I wouldn't have thought to make it a career. I wanted to HELP people, not just rub lotion on strangers in a way that I imagined as soothing, but not pain relieving.
Just over 11 years ago, I was hit by a car (long, funny, & thanfully not tragic story that if asked, I will go into further detail.)
My recovery consisted of Massage therapy, Chiropractic and Physical therapy. It was through my personal experience that I learned how incredibly HELPFUL massage can be.

I absolutely Love what I do! My favorite part is helping people feel better than they did when they walked in. There are times that someone will come in unable to reach their feet, then after, they can dress and put on their shoes with ease.

It is my goal to help you reach your goals. The best way to reach my goal is through listening and applying your feedback.

A little bit about me: hobbies, family, interests:

Besides massage, I enjoy fixing and creating things at home. Puzzles and games are also a fun pastime. The game that has captured my attention since our shut down for Covid is June's Journey. I am a mother of 2 teenagers who still enjoy and need my company.

My older son loves animals and would have a hobby farm if I let him. For now, we have 4 cats and 1 dog.

My younger son enjoys being my shadow with house projects and building things from legos, metal erector set type kits, etc. He has fabulous creative ideas and plenty of questions to go along with them.
